The AAADA is the leading Australian antiques and art industry association, with six state chapters, representing 137 leading antiques and art dealers throughout Australia. Members and Service Providers must meet entry criteria before being admitted, and uphold the principles of the Association and adhere to Codes of Practice. The AAADA holds an annual antiques and fine art fair in Sydney each year. Check the web site for dates and venue. CINOA. The initials stand for Confederation Internationale des Negociants en Ouvres D'Art, and it is the worldwide umbrella organisation for antique and art dealers. Lists of CINOA members from dealer organisations from South Africa, Germany, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Spain, U. S. A., France, United Kingdom, Ireland, Italy, New Zealand, Holland, Sweden and Switzerland are listed on the site. BADA, the web site of the British Antique Dealers Association, the leading British Association for the antique trade. Founded in 1918, the Association now has over 400 elected members. LAPADA ON-LINE, the web site of the Association of Art and Antique Dealers of the United Kingdom, with over 750 members, offers an index of members geographically, alphabetically and by stock classification, as well as advice on shippers and other services offered by the organisation. The Australian and New Zealand Antiquarian Booksellers Association has established their own site which lists all their members, some of whom have catalogues on line. The Antiquarian Booksellers' Association of America (ABAA) site lists all the members of the ABAA together with their specialities and links to their catalogues, some of which offer search facilities. There is also a link to the site of the International League of Antiquarian Booksellers. The French antiquarian bookseller's association, S. L. A. M. (Syndicat National de la Librairie Ancienne et Moderne) was created in 1914 and has 220 members. This site lists the members alphabetically, geographically, and by speciality, and includes the catalogues of some members. The Gemmological Association of Australia (GAA) is Australia's historic trade-accepted non-profit educational authority for gemmology, and is responsible for producing Australia's gemmologists by educating and updating members of the gem and jewellery industry, and the general public, about all aspects of gemstones and their substitutes. The GAA conducts extensive professional training programs in each state. Membership of The Gemmological Association is open to people from all walks of life. The Ceramics and Glass Circle of Australia Inc. was established to encourage the study of ceramics and glass amongst members, and to propagate knowledge and appreciation of ceramics and glass to the public, especially to young people.
